Bruce A. Nager
CEO of Sunrise Medical Group

Bruce A. Nager, CEO of Sunrise Medical Group, is recognized as one of the most distinguished medical entrepreneurs in health care. He began his active involvement in South Florida’s health-care community in 1982 when, as a board certified chiropractic practitioner, he established Cypress Creek Chiropractic Center in Fort Lauderdale. Since that initial endeavor, Dr. Nager has founded close to a dozen additional medical centers throughout the country including Neurodiagnostics of Broward in 1986, Florida Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Lauderdale in 1994, Cypress Creek Medical Center in 1995, South Florida Affiliated Health & Rehab Center in 1995, Oakland Park Medical Center in 1995, and Family Health Center of Fort Pierce in 1996.

Outside of Florida, Dr. Nager successfully developed a network of urgent care and occupational health care centers in Michigan, purchased by HealthSouth Corporation in 1998.

In 1999, Dr. Nager returned his focus to the Florida market by establishing Sunrise Medical Group, a comprehensive medical, diagnostic, and ancillary services organization that delivers infrastructure and technology to its subsidiary companies. Sunrise Medical Group includes Sunrise Medical Group Neurology, Sunrise Pulmonary Group, Sunrise MRI, and Sunrise Sleep Diagnostics. In total, the practice divisions offer the services of 45 physicians at 14 different locations in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

Dr. Nager’s numerous accomplishments were first recognized in 1995 when he became the only Chiropractor to be awarded a directorship of the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (C.A.R.F.) outpatient rehabilitation center. He was again recognized in 1998 as a finalist of the NASDAQ/Ernst & Young Michigan Entrepreneur of the Year Award; and in 2005, Dr. Nager was appointed by Governor Bush to serve on Statewide Advocacy Council (SAC).  In this capacity, Dr. Nager has chaired the Adult Special Committee and served as a member on several other committees.

Dr. Nager received his Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from National College of Chiropractic in 1980 and earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College in 1982.  He and his wife Marcell live in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  They have two daughters, Meagan and Taylor.
