Welcome to Sunrise Clinical Research
Established
in 1999, Universal Medical Concepts’ research division is a national site for
the clinical drug research
required to develop new drug therapies and treatments for specific medical
conditions. Research is conducted in three of our state-of-the-art
Broward County
facilities and establishes safe ways to discover new treatments that ultimately
help improve the quality of life for many patients.
Before a pharmaceutical company can bring a new drug to the
general public, the drug must be tested extensively to establish its safety,
efficacy, and possible side effects. Each year, working with the FDA, thousands
of volunteers participate in clinical
drug testing studies conducted by Sunrise Clinical Research, the research
arm of Universal Medical Concepts and one of a family of Sunrise practices
including the well-known Sunrise Medical Group. This large scale testing
provides pharmaceutical companies and the FDA with a more thorough understanding
of each drug's effectiveness, benefits, and the range of possible adverse
reactions. Of benefit to the volunteers is the chance to have access to
promising drugs long before these compounds are approved for the marketplace.
Participants receive excellent care from physicians and staff during the course
of the study, usually at no cost to themselves or their insurance companies.
These volunteers are an important link in the long chain of
Florida clinical drug
research and testing for the development of new medications. Past and
current studies include treatments for Alzheimer’s, Epilepsy, Multiple
Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Migraine headaches, Stroke, Diabetic neuropathy, chronic
pain, Fibromyalgia, memory loss and others.
Sunrise
Clinical Research is actively engaged in cutting-edge drug research and we
welcome your participation. For more detailed information about the clinical
